Amsterdam Breaks Enjoy a Weekend Away in this Great City

If you are looking into a short weekend trip away, why not try a break in Amsterdam. Flights to Schipol Airport located just outside Amsterdam are often very cheap and there is just a short flight from the UK. Really you can be there in no time at all.

In terms of accommodation in Amsterdam, while not cheap there are some great deals available on hotels. There are some great hotels in and around the old centre and if you are looking for budget accommodation, there are some very high quality hostels and guesthouses which are very reasonable. There are some great sites. Of particular interest is the Anne Frank House which shows where the famous Jewish refugee hid from the Nazis. Alternatively, the Van Gogh Museum has a great array of the Dutch artists work and features some of the very famous pieces.

If you are feeling like a drink, why not visit the Heineken Brewery where you can learn all about how the drink is made and even sample a few glasses of the lager. There are also city walking tours around Amsterdam which will show you all the parts of this city including the famed Red Light District. You can end your day with a lazy ride down the canal where you can enjoy all that Amsterdam has to offer.
