Camping in Scotland: read on
The Scottish Camping website is probably the best place to start. You can search for your ideal campsite – whether it be on the mainland, near a town or village, or off on one of the islands with little else in terms of civilisation within easy reach. Many of the campsites also have berths for motor homes and caravans and some also have permanent caravans available for hire. The campsites are all well equipped with clean and modern facilities. Scottish campsites tend to be open all year round although only the (fool)hardy would dare to camp under canvas during the winter months. The majority of the campsites are designed with families in mind and as a result have playgrounds and entertainments on site as well as being close to local attractions. All are within very easy reach of Scotland’s fabulous scenery and countryside. Visit the official Scotland tourist information website to find out more, or try the Scottish Camping website. The Camping UK website is also very useful.
