• Take a flight to Male

  The Maldives is the smallest country in Asia, however that does not stop it attracting millions of visitors to its shores; there are hundreds of stunning islands to explore and many places to visit while in the Maldives. Male International Airport is situated on the island of Hulhule, 3km from the capital island Male. It is the primary international airport in the Maldives and is one of only two international airports on the islands.

  Because of its island location, Male is not accessible by road. Consequently there are no parking or car-rental facilities at the airport. There are two options available for transport between Male International Airport and the various islands in the Maldives. A 24hour ferry service provides transfers from the airport to Male or to various resort islands in the area. Taxis are freely available at the drop-off point in Male. Alternatively Maldivian Air Taxi and Trans Maldivian Airways are both sea plane operators that offer flights between the airport and various locations in the Maldives.

  There is just one hotel on Hulhule, The Hulhule Island Hotel, which is a mere 5 minute walk from the airport and 10 minutes ferry ride from Male. The facilities in general are excellent at Male International Airport with a wide range of superb reastaurants, bars and shops to browse through while you're at the airport. Quite a few international airlines offer flights to Male, including Thomson Airways and British Airways from the UK.
