Looking for an Antiguan holiday?
The capital is called St John and is situated in the north west of the island. It has a deep harbour which is well able to accommodate cruise ships: a major part of this island's economy. To the south east is English Harbour, well known for its sheltered situation during tropical storms and bad weather. The site of a restored British colonial naval station known as Nelson's Dockyard, English Harbour and the neighbouring village of Falmouth are internationally renowned as a yachting and sailing destination. Antigua is a very popular holiday destination amongst Brits for its sunny climate, beautiful beaches and clear blue waters. Tourism is a major factor in Antigua's economy and as such there are guesthouses, B&Bs and hotels along the coastline of the island. There are also many watersports to indulge in as well as fine dining and golf courses on dry land. If you are planning a holiday to Antigua we recommend you visit your travel agent who will be able to advise you on hotels and location for your stay. They will also be able to tell you the best time of year to travel and be able to book flights, transfers, accommodation and any excursions that you may want to make.
