Switzerland holidays

Perched in one of the most scenic and stunningly beautiful parts of the world is the small country of Switzerland. What makes Switzerland so great is that it guarantees an excellent holiday whether you visit in the winter or the summer.

There are many various parts of Switzerland that each offers something different to visitors. The capital, Bern, is a historic city that is listed as a UNESCO world heritage. It's a great place to wander around with a large number of boutiques, bars and parks to discover. Switzerland's largest city, Zurich, and Geneva, with its famous lake, are both great places to visit, especially by train where you get the full scenic effect.

If you're a fan of skiing, Switzerland is the place for you. One of the biggest tourist attractions is the Klein Matterhorn Aerial Tramway, where people are taken up the 13,000 feet of Little Matterhorn by cable car. The ski run on the way back down is one of the longest in Europe.

The Glacier Express is also highly recommended. This is train travel like no other, it's an amazing journey through the unbelievable scenery of the Alps and the train runs from St. Moritz and Zermatt. There is so many great things to do in Switzerland, from attending the theatre to sampling the world's best chocolate, that you'll find yourself coming back again and again.
