Take a trip to Barbados
Just twenty one miles in length and up to twenty three miles in width, Barbados is an island in the Lesser Antilles. It is situated in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean and east of the Windward Islands and Caribbean Sea. Barbados was formerly a Portuguese and then British colony and now has claimed its independence but retains Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It is one of the Caribbean's leading tourist destinations and is the most developed island in the region. Flight time from London to Barbados is approximately eight hours and the time difference is four hours behind GMT. Many of the travel agents such as Thomson, First Choice, Virgin Holidays and Teletext Holidays are offering great deals on late summer breaks to the Caribbean including holidays to Barbados. You should be aware that the autumn is hurricane and tropical storm season however so sunshine hours could be shorter than at other times of the year. Teletext Holidays are offering ten nights at the Almond Casuarina resort in Barbados on an all inclusive basis for two people sharing a room for just £1118 per person. Flights are from London Gatwick on 18th September and include all taxes and transfers. This is a stunning resort with beachfront tropical gardens and an emphasis on environmental awareness. Virgin Holidays have an excellent deal, offering ten nights at the Tropical Winds resort for just £773 per person based on two people sharing. This is on a room only basis however so you need to take money for meals out. Flights are from London Gatwick departing on 24th September and again include all taxes and transfers.
