Thinking of a holiday in Greece this year?
You could backpack your way round the Greek islands during a long summer holiday, or take in two or three favourite islands at a more leisurely pace. You can camp on the beach or glam it up at a luxury hotel. If you prefer you can just stay on one island and see all the sights. Mainland Greece is an extremely popular destination for holiday makers either as their final place to relax or as a base from which to explore the islands. Towns and cities such as Athens, Mystras and Githeon are all well worth a visit and attractions like the Diros Caves and the Peloponessos are must-sees. If you’re after a package holiday then First Choice, Thomson and Crete Holidays are the obvious places to start. Thomas Cook also have some brilliant late deals for Greece holidays. The best we have found is £336 per person for seven nights self catering in an apartment with flights from London Gatwick in September. Also try lastminute.com and Expedia. These are especially good if you can be flexible with your travel dates. Teletext is also a great place to look for late deals. They currently are offering a seven night holiday in Athens at the Ionis Hotel for £368 per person based on two people sharing, flying from London Gatwick in September. If you are feeling a little more flush and want to splash out a bit then try James Villas for increased luxury. With increased privacy and a real home from home feeling, if you can afford it, this is a great way to holiday.
